The Alameda Corridor Streetscape project was designed and funded by the Lakewood Reinvestment Authority in order to bolster the economic vitality, enhance community identity, and produce continuing benefits for the local economy. Streetscape enhancements will start at South Carr street and extend to South Benton street creating a “front door” to the City center.
The work will involve road widening in order to accommodate landscaped medians, new sidewalks, curb and gutter, tree planting, landscape and irrigation and aesthetic features such as flagstone monuments, a new mast arm signal at Teller street and new street lighting.
