David A. Lorenz Regional Park

David A. Lorenz Regional Park is built on a closed, capped landfill in Douglas County, ColoradoWe worked with Plan West to create a masterplan for the 140-acre site, and then constructed Phase I of the facility in 2006. This first phase includes two synthetic-turf multiuse fields and a synthetic-turf baseball field. Because of the site’s history as a landfill, the park cannot be irrigated, so the entire facility was designed and constructed to function entirely without water.

ACC returned to the park two more times after the initial project to construct additional sports fields and amenities.  In total, ACC generated more than $6 million in revenue from 2006 – 2009 and earned a Grand Award in the 34th Annual Environmental Improvement Awards Program sponsored by the Associated Landscape Contractors of America.
